The Foundation features six unique flats, positioned at the top of Montenero’s 'staircased' town. Many of these homes have been thoughtfully renovated to enhance both comfort and design, with every detail handcrafted by Giancarlo and his team. Giancarlo, a skilled bespoke woodworker and craftsman, has poured care and artistry into each space. The ongoing upkeep and renovations are made possible through rental income and the generous support of Giuseppe Mascoli, son of Frenkiel & Ponti.
The Cave is a beautiful two bedroom, two bathroom home with an earthy, organic charm. The design feels as though it's been embedded into the mountain, giving the space a grounded, natural character. The open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area is warm and inviting, offering a spacious yet cozy feel, with large a window framing a stunning view of the valley below. Residents also have access to a shared garden space, perfect for quiet moments outdoors.
The Nest is a tranquil 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom retreat full of village charm and cozy character. Set within a classic wooden chalet structure, it features locally handmade furniture and a traditional fireplace that brings warmth and comfort, especially in the colder months. When you enter, you’re welcomed into the open upstairs space, where the kitchen, dining area, and living room blend together beneath exposed beams. A sofa bed offers extra sleeping space, perfect for small groups or families. Downstairs, you'll find a peaceful double bedroom and a newly renovated bathroom, creating a restful, private area to unwind. Firewood can be provided during winter to make sure you're set for a snug stay.
The Burrow is our newest addition, a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom flat that blends raw elegance with craftsmanship. Featuring striking concrete walls and artisan wooden flooring, every piece of furniture inside has been custom made by Giancarlo, our in-house craftsman. A beautiful historic archway marks the entrance, leading into a space that opens up to a stunning view of the valley below.Though still in its final stages of completion, The Burrow will be ready to welcome guests by June, offering a unique blend of character, comfort, and handmade design.
